Who we are
New London Ruritan Club has served the community since
1947. Ruritan members volunteer to enhance the quality of life through
community service and to make our community a better place to live
and work. Ruritan is family, fun and friends. We are proud to be an
organization of positive people doing positive things in our community.
We take pride in the things we bring to the New London area.
What we do
New London Ruritan Club committees propose and implement
projects to fulfill community needs.
Examples: We provide 5th grade essay awards and college scholarships.
We partner with Verizon Telecom Pioneers to provide dictionaries to
3rd grade students. We support: Feed the Need, rescue squads, volunteer
fire departments, Central VA Livestock, Hunters for the Hungry, USA
Dance, LifeLines by Tracie, and After Prom programs. As needed we
are also happy to allow community members to use the clubhouse for
fund-raisers to help community persons with medical expenses.
How we do it
New London Ruritan Club rents the clubhouse, and member
volunteers sponsor dances welcoming everyone to be our guest.
• Dances include; country, shag, ballroom, and line dancing
• Rent the clubhouse for meetings, family reunions, birthday
parties, weddings, etc
• We accept donations from kind folks that support our mission
There are several types of membership
in Ruritan; Active $80 (attends monthly meetings and participates
in club business voting), Associate Adult $44 or Youth $15 (supports
the club at volunteer events). The New London Ruritan Club meets on
the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30PM in the clubhouse at 12411
East Lynchburg-Salem Turnpike. We are interested in hearing from you
and would like to know how you want to serve the local community.
